Provide Food and Safe Transport to Stranded Migrants during COVID-19 Lockdown

"Should we eat mud and stones here in the city? It’s better that we go back to our villages. At least there we will get to eat roti with salt." These words by a migrant labourer interviewed on TV while he was walking hundreds of kilometres to his home shook me.  All of India is struggling for normalcy in this 21-day lockdown in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak. But the ones who are the hardest hit are the most vulnerable of us all: the migrant labourers, who work in big cities as daily wagers.  The lockdown means they’re out of work for the next 3 weeks. With no income they can’t afford food. Before the government could announce relief packages, lakhs of them with children in tow began heading back to their villages within and across state borders. On foot, as there is no public transport either. All they want is to get back safely to their homes in their village.Sign my petition asking the Central governments and state governments to coordinate a rescue and relief operation. This should include providing them  Safe transport to reach their villages Food and water camps along the route Doing so will require intense coordination across states, involving District Administrations. It is heartening to see that a few Chief Ministers have already begun reaching out to one another through social media. Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh (where I am from), Odisha, Jharkhand, Delhi, and Punjab are already coordinating among themselves. This rescue, relief and support operation needs to involve multiple states. Sign my petition to provide relief to stranded migrants immediately. This will be the best use of our access to social media, especially when we are unable to go out of our homes. If we don't raise our voices for these helpless Indians then who will?#HelpTheMigrants Image Credit: Adnan Abidi/Reuters

"Take Boards Online" else Pass students by giving some common "Project/Assignment"

The situation of Covid-19 is going worse day-by-day in India. The state like Maharashtra is facing a very critical situation during this pandemic. Cases here are rising every Morning instead of decreasing making the state with highest active Covid cases in India also the death rate due to pandemic is not yet come to 0(zero). In all these situation the government is preparing to take offline exams for "HSC" as well as "SSC". This decision of government has raised the stress level of students and many of them are taking wrong steps. All we want is either government should take our exams "Online" or else pass us by giving some "Common Assignment" and a common "Date of Submission" for these assignment. And if the government says, "It would be difficult for the students in rural areas to give Online Exam then where was this thinking during Online Classes ?" It just simply means that those students will not be ready for exams even, isn't it ?  I urge the education minister to look into the matter. Your one right decision can save many of life of students as they are undergoing through a lot of stress and pressure due to all these unfortunate times and with all of these they will have to take pressure of examination. This may lead them to take unnecessary decision due to not performing well ! I also urge the government to look into the situation as some serious action is needed to be taken at the early. I also urge my friends to support me!

Cancellation of 10th and 12th boards due to pandemic which has been increasing day by day.

To the SSC AND HSE council, I plead you to cancel class 10th and 12th board exams this year due to covid 19 as it has been a major problem for almost every student in india. Students are not able to study online as due to network issues or sometimes due to unusual timings and no digital devices and though the governement has reduced 25 percent of portion in order to relieve students from stress they still failed it badly however we do appreciate their sincere efforts . we are still lagging behind because it has been a daunting task for us to manage our family and studies because many students have started working (part time)  for the bread and butter for their families due to financial crisis arising in this pandemic and they have no alternate option other than suffering. This year every exam and lecture has been conducted online without even considering whether the students are able to learn something or not , students had literally thought that this year would be more relieving to them but instead its giving more stress to their mind and even parents. Many students have been trying to cope up but it seems that the examination spirit has been long lost and it's almost gone. Parents have been pressurizing students even amid this crisis  to get good results but they got no idea how badly students are suffering this year and many oversmart parents are opposing to the cancellation of boards and their concern for their children is appreciated but according to this situation parents should not only think for their children but also for others so just because their child is going to classes and gets good grades with their fine intelligence and has paid the fees for the exams doesn't mean that others can do the same this year because if any problem or crisis takes place then all those parents and the government would be held responsible for it. Maharastra has been seeing its peak since the starting of this pandemic and it has been going through the worst so it's my sincere opinion that if not other states then please cancel boards for maharastra state as it has the most number of cases and it's not safe for students or anyone to go outside and give an exam. One thing to remember here is that health is wealth so please consider all this points and if no action can be taken against this then please take good remedial measures which could actually help students and relieve parents and teachers as well.  It's a humble request to the maharastra government and education department so please do something and look upon this matter  Thank you

Cancelation or Change of Mode of ICSE Board Exams 2021

As we know India is going through a tough time  ,dealing with the Covid-19 virus .A second wave is coming up ,and stats say that it will be at its peak in late April 2021. We are also told that the board exams of The ICSE are going to be held ,May 5th 2021 onwards. Offline classes have already started in many states, and as we know THE SITUATION DOESNT GET ANY BETTER. Thousands of students are affected by the virus every day. Many of them, leaving this very planet without their contribution for which they are studying for so hard with absolute determination. Lives are affected, families too. Students tend to make contact with other infected students and in turn spread  the virus to their kin, thus contributing to the manifold piling up of cases everyday. Students hold the very future of India. They have it all in their hands, and  them suffering  and dying is nowhere  going to lead to the developed India we want. We are literally losing precious gems for the mere economy of other sectors. Do we want that? Isn't life and health more important  than anything. . In fact they are not bothered about the health of the students. Students were affected with the virus while  writing  the preparatory 1 and 2 (preparatory exams before the actual board exams). So how on Earth are they supposed  to write a month long of exams while the second wave is at its peak without getting affected by the virus. Students affected  would not even, hence  get a chance to complete rest of  their exams . Isn't that unfair ,given that college admissions are taken based on Board marks, which includes the marks pertaining to all subjects as a whole. Its clear injustice. What fault would the student have in this case. Online classes that happened in these months, were not helpful, doubts were not solved. There was no interaction with the teachers whatsoever. Trying to reach teachers was like a big piece of task. Teachers were finding  it so difficult  to contact us although  they were trying their best. The lack of fast internet  supply and the chunky salary cut, did not allow them to do the best they could do, due to the lack of amenities. Despite the huge ICSE syllabus chunk, which  was hardly reduced for the year of havoc, studentS kept their silence and followed on. But now is the time to act. Health and Life is no joke. Also, none of the practical  measures are being followed at schools. Social Distancing is not maintained, no sanitization and no wearing of masks by the students as well as the staff. The school managements do not even seem to care. The situation is taken for granted. I know how dangerous  the virus is ,cause I've seen it first hand when my parents and my brother were suffering  while they were affected  by it. I used to be depressed  every  day thinking about them, while I was at home taking care of my grandparents and my little brother. It was very hard. Thankfully they came out of it ,but ,after so much suffering and loaded medical expenses. I having, a condition  called allergic asthma ,and I know how hard it gets when you just have a cold, it's difficult  to breath, with chest pains and bouts  of coughing. With covid, it's going to be much worse for  people like me and also for  the general  public. At last, I'd like to say boards are not that important  than health and lives. Everyone  deserves to live. Everyone wants to fulfil  their aspirations  and dreams ,but without  life and good health , there's no chance of it happening. THUS,I URGE ALL OF YOU TO SUPPORT  THIS PETITION  FOR THE FUTURE  OF INDIA. Covid cases were comparatively very very very very very less last year and the exams were cancelled. My dad being a doctor and the head of the SICU of the hospital he works in ,has seen it first hand. Everyday he sees patients suffering, families crying and  children dying. ITS THAT SERIOUS. We also are given to know that inoculation  does not prevent infection like we think it does, so it's not going to withold the virus. It's more worse this year, and we will not only need cancelation  of exams But also ANOTHER LOCKDOWN. ITS ABSOLUTELY  NECESSARY. INDIA IS NOT INDIA WITHOUT ITS CITIZENS .WE NEED PROTECTION. WE CANT LIVE OUR LIVES WITH FEAR.PLEASE FIND A WAY TO CANCEL THE EXAMS COMPLETELY AND PASSING ALL THE STUDENTS EQUALLY FOR NOT ONLY ICSE BUT ALL BOARDS  OR HAVING A NON-LIFE IMPACTING SERIES OF EXAMS,OR COUNT MARKS BASED ON PROJECTS.PLEASE DONT PUT TENDER LIVES INTO RISK.PLEASE.PLEASE SIGN THIS. WE ARE IN NEED.WE NEED THE FUTURE AND THE FUTURE  NEEDS US.WE NEED INDIA AND INDIA NEEDS US.

Cancellation of ICSE & CBSE Board Exams 2021 due to Covid19

Dear Students and Fellow Citizens, I wish to express my solidarity with all students and parents who are worried about the health risks associated with appearing for offline exams during the peak of the pandemic. The public health crisis is testing our resolve and resources as a nation. As the vaccination drive continues, we need to do everything in our capacity to curb any event that escalates community-level transmission of the virus. Forcing unvaccinated students to gather in a public place for an examination is certainly not the way forward. As a Member of Parliament, I assure you of my support. I invite you to continue engaging with me via my Twitter page @ManishTewari and remain updated on my work. Thank you, Manish Tewari Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha Indian National Congress

Provide Food and Safe Transport to Stranded Migrants during COVID-19 Lockdown

Dear Citizens, The lockdown triggered by the Coronavirus pandemic has created the worst humanitarian crises in our country since the partition of 1947. When the lockdown was suddenly announced in the third week of May, almost two months after the first cases had been reported in Kerala, chaos descended everywhere. Within days, frantic migrants went on a mass exodus. The Modi government inflicted an avoidable catastrophe on itself by creating such a crisis. Without their daily income, hungry and homeless, the migrants took to the national highways. The scorching sun didn’t bother them, neither did the fact that their homes could be over 300 km away. Several poignant and heart breaking stories of human suffering have been documented. This is an issue that the Congress party and I care about deeply. I am glad that this petition on Change.org by Sunita Kumari and Shirin Shabana Khan for the safe return of our migrant brothers and sisters has been brought to my notice. As stated by our party president Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji, workers and labourers form the backbone of our economy. Their hard work and sacrifice are the foundation of our nation. Therefore there is an urgent need to to enable these helpless Indians to reach their families at zero or minimal costs. The matter needs to be handled with a sense of humanity and utmost respect. Following the Ministry of Home Affairs order dated 29th April, which mandated guidelines for the movement of persons, I am happy to share with you all that Congress-run governments in three states, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, and Rajasthan, are bearing the rail travel expenses of stranded labourers and migrants going home. On Smt. Gandhi’s instructions, Pradesh Congress Committees in all other states will be bearing the rail travel costs of every needy worker and migrant labourer. For example, the Maharashtra unit of the #Congress party has paid for the tickets of 4,627 migrants who travelled from Maharashtra to Bihar in the past couple of days. Our party’s initiative has led many other political parties and some state governments to make similar commitments. This crisis presents us an opportunity to unite as parties and as Indians to take care of one another and make these hard times easier for every single Indian. I would like you to remain updated on our work by following us on Twitter @INCIndia and @ManishTewari Thank you, Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament, Sri Anandpur Sahib(Punjab) National Spokesperson, Indian National Congress Former Information and Broadcasting Minister, Govt.
