Lloyd Alton Doggett II is an American lawyer and politician serving as a U.S. Representative from Texas, currently representing Texas's 37th congressional district. A member of the Democratic Party, Doggett has been a prominent figure in Texas politics since the 1970s. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin. Doggett's political career began as a member of the Texas State Senate from 1973 to 1985. He then served as a Justice on the Texas Supreme Court from 1989 to 1994 before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1995. Over the years, he has been a consistent advocate for progressive policies and a respected leader in his community.
