Karen Eileen Spilka is an American politician and attorney who has made significant contributions to the political landscape of Massachusetts. A member of the Democratic Party, she is currently serving as the President of the Massachusetts Senate, a role she has held since July 2018. Karen represents the towns of Ashland, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Medway, and Natick, located in the MetroWest region of Massachusetts. Before her tenure in the Senate, she was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 2001 to 2005.
