Bill Carlson, born William Meyer Carlson (1934-2008), was a distinguished American journalist and television anchor known for his long tenure at WCCO in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Born in Thief River Falls and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Carlson pursued higher education with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Tampa and a Master's in Public Administration from Harvard University. Beyond journalism, he held notable positions as a Senior Marketing Consultant and President at Tucker/Hall. Additionally, Carlson served as a Council Member for District 4 in Tampa City, showcasing his dedication to public service. He passed away at the age of 73 on February 29, 2008, after battling prostate cancer, leaving behind a legacy of impactful service in both media and community leadership.
