Since most bars in Salt Lake City are open until 1 or 2 AM, it would only make sense to have a safe form of transportation for those that have been out drinking or working. It really doesn't make sense for the public transportation system to stop running before midnight. These extended hours could help lower the amount of drunk drivers on the road, intoxicated people walking the street, and the large chunks of cash people have to pay in order to get a cab home. Not only would this help reduce all of these issues, but it would also create new jobs (late night TRAX and bus drivers, as well as security officers). So realistically, why wouldn't everyone want public transportation in Salt Lake City to run later? It only makes sense for everyone to have a safe way to get home at night!!!
