Government agencies that use tax dollars to support their programs, like school districts, are not permitted by law to influence elections. During their half-time performance and UIL competition, Beaumont Independent School District Central Medical Magnate High School marching band conducted a simulated fight between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. This fight also included the PBS character Big Bird. In the skit, the announcer can be heard cheering on candidates. At the conclusion, Mr. Obama and Big Bird knock Mr. Romney to the ground. Public schools do not need to be involved in political messages and are not allowed to use taxpayer funds to promote political messages. This is a gross misuse of tax dollars.  The skit can be seen in the embedded video.
