Stop Rick Perry from shutting down the WHP

The Issue

130,000+ Texas women use this program to get basic women's wellness checks including pap smears, breast exams, birth control, ect. Without this program many women would lose access to their only form of healthcare. This includes many women who also take birth control for medical reasons such as pmdd,pcos,ect..and also many women who otherwise would not be able to afford insurance to cover basic women's health such as cervical cancer screenings and birth control.

Planned parenthood helps 44% of women on the women's health program. To lose this program/end it's affilation would leave nearly half of women on the plan without a place to go, a place they have relied on. The state is talking about "state's rights" to choose the providers for this plan, but this only limit's women's right to choose the healthcare provider they want.
