Odessa, TX - Planned Parenthood is closing their Odessa office and now they want to let patients know what to do.
This week patients will receive postcards in the mail notifying them of the changes.
The office will merge with the Midland Planned Parenthood clinic after the Odessa office closes March 9th. They will be offering all of the same services.
CEO Karen Hildebrand says the main change is that patients will have to pay out of pocket since the Texas Women's Health Program will no longer be available in the state.
This comes after news that the state signed a rule forbidding any "abortion provider" from participating in the program.
As a result, the Obama Administration is threatening to cut off all federal funding for the Women's Health Program if the state does not change that rule. If an agreement is not reached, funding will end next month.
