Stop the Montreal-Portland Pipeline Reversal!

Stop the Montreal-Portland Pipeline Reversal!
The Issue
Canada's Enbridge and the Portland-Montreal Line Co., are planning to reverse the flow of the Montreal-Portland pipeline so that tar sands oil can be shipped out of Portland Harbor.
This project might as well be called Keystone XL East!
This project would threaten the following pan-American treasures at risk:
The Grand River Basin- a designated Canadian Heritage River and home to more that 215 at-risk species
Lake Ontario- a vital link in the Great River chain that provides bounty to millions of Americans and Canadians
The Saint Lawrence River- the source of half of Quebec's drinking water and a seasonal home for blue whales
Victory State Forest: a habitat for Vermont moose and migratory birds
The Connecticut River- a waterway that drains one-third of New England’s landscape and runs through both Springfield, Mass. and Hartford, Connecticut's state capital
The Androscoggin River- a popular waterway that runs through New Hampshire and Maine
Sebago Lake- home to a native species of Atlantic salmon and the major drinking supply for Portland, Maine's largest metropolitan area
Casco Bay- a large and important marine estuary
This plan would endanger the lives and livelihood of millions of Americans and Canadians, as well as countless miles of beautiful land and an untold number of protected species. Sign this petition and save our wildlife, water and way of living!
