It is a proven fact that tigers in private shelters live longer lives than those in the wild. The Bengal tigers of BigCatEncounters.Org are located on 20 acres of property, isolated from other homes and needs to remain a permanent home for the tigers. The Conditional Use Permit will ensure the tigers remain safe and secure in their present home. The private, not open to the public shelter, provides a calm and peaceful environment for these endangered species. There are currently 5 other facilities operating without this permit in NYE County. The "Special Treatment" that we are receiving is questionable, as we are a State of Nevada Humane Shelter, with the director who is a 100% disabled Vietnam Veteran, who's tigers provide therapy.
