Ched Evans of Sheffied United has been convicted of rape, and yet the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) have still included him in their end of season honours list. As a secondary school teacher working with young and impressionable people who see sports professionals - and especially footballers - as role models, I feel that the PFA are sending out a very troubling message. As a professional body, they have a responsibility to ensure that the public see them upholding certain values about sports professionals.
