We are not just raising our voices in the streets, we are raising our voices in court. We, the youngest generation, are taking legal action to get our governments to protect the atmosphere for our future.  Youth have filed legal action in every state and federally to compel governments to adopt climate recovery plans to reduce carbon emissions by 6%. By March 19, 2012, the Federal Government needs to prepare and adopt a climate recovery plan setting forth the means to implement the necessary national emissions reductions by January 1, 2013 to meet the following reduction trajectory: (1) not allowing United States carbon dioxide (“CO2”) emissions to exceed levels as of September 1, 2011; (2) prohibiting any significant deviation from the benchmark mitigation scenario of a minimum 6% annual CO2 reduction trajectory to return atmospheric CO2 levels to 350 ppm by December 31, 2099.
