standardization in quality of service of the INTERNET in Nepal

The Issue

Internet has become an integral part of our life. We use it in second but today due to lack of standardization it is getting costlier as well as we have no clue about how it is being charged. From the fastest 3G service of any service providers (Ncell and NTC) money sweeps away in seconds, people have no idea about what is happening.

“WE WANT QUALITY IN TERMS OF STANDARIZATION OF SERVICE AND RESOURCE UTILIZATION”

We want a definite mechanism in monitoring the bandwidth. Apart from that we all use broadband service in our homes. Most of the times, the Internet Service Providers(ISP) fails to acknowledge the rights of consumers in terms of providing better service and quality.
At the beginning we are promised with good customer service and quality bandwidth but when it comes to real operation things don’t work the way it should be.

Though the internet penetration rate has increase to 29.78 (According to NTA’s second quarterly report) but the quality of service and customers service remains unchanged with bad customer service and hectic processes.

Customers and clients have to face a lot of problem in terms of troubleshooting and solving the errors. In-fact they have to waste their time, money and resource.  

We request the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) the regulatory body of the Nepal Government to give a close look at the problem and to spread the awareness in promoting the quality and standardization of internet in Nepal.

I believe internet standardization and climate change are crucial factors that's creating big problems in our lives and if we do not give it a thought about how to resolve it then it will affect us irrespective to who we are and which country we belong to? It's now upon us to see and bring change at individual level as your small effort can make a difference, it’s not about what we say it's about we do. At individual level it might seems nothing but when thousands and millions of people think it in the same way, it can make a difference.
