Do not grant the permit to Georgia Aquarium to import 18 Beluga Whales
The Issue
Georgia Aquarium, Sea World Florida, Sea World California, Sea World Texas, Shedd Aquarium, and Mystic Aquarium want to import 18 Beluga Whales from the wild off of the coast of Russia. These whales are not injured. According to Sea World, this is for education. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) says that capturing uninjured whales in the wild and shipping for display is rare. Let's not set a precedent of taking whales from the wild just to show them off at aquariums.
