Raise local property taxes to support our schools!

The Issue

It is not difficult to see how Montgomery County School System is currently in a budget crisis: we have just finished construction of 2 elementary schools, one high school, and are currently building 2 high schools and undertaking a massive renovation of a middle school; we have had state funding cuts to our district to the tune of 6.2 million dollars. Given that our teachers are some of the lowest paid in the country, and that our county has a VERY low real estate tax ($0.75/$100.00 of value), we need to tell our board of supervisors to raise the real estate tax rate and fund our school system.
