Sadly, Bowie’s story is all too familiar for most. The flea and tick products sold by Hartz have been known to cause illness and death, yet they are still being sold by major retailers everywhere. Ignorant pet owners fall victim to their affordable prices and EPA approval, only to realize the dangers once their beloved pet(s) succumb to the poison.

When Bowie’s owner discovered fleas resting in his fur, she acted as a responsible cat-lover and treated him with the Hartz flea medicine sold at her local store. When he developed a rash, she rushed him to the emergency veterinary clinic. Bowie's prognosis was grim, his infection was spreading and with no alternatives, he was put to rest.

I am starting this petition in Bowie’s memory. Together we can make a difference and prevent any other pets from suffering.
