Manuel Martorell is a well-known Spanish historian and the journalist specialized on Middle East who is currently working for the newspaper Cuarto Poder (Fourth Power) of which he is also the co-founder. Many of his publications and books investigate the Kurdish Problem and are of high value for the historic research of that topic. Manuel was one of the first who condemned the Kurdish tragedy; he was the voice of the voiceless when the entire world ignored the atrocities which plagued the Kurdish people. He gave many conferences and it is his books the students learn from about the Middle Eastern history.

He is a professional journalist, defender of the human rights and person inclined to help those who need help, honest and open minded, this can be confirmed by everyone who has known him. Manuel has done an enormous work to make the world aware of the sufferings of the Kurdish people.

We demand the State Department of the US and its representatives in Madrid to exclude Manuel from the list of people "having relations with terrorist activities" in their registers, return his right to travel to the US again without Visa just as the rest of the Spanish people and apologize for this heavy and unjustified accusation.
