US Government Needs to Regulate Animal Breeding
US Government Needs to Regulate Animal Breeding
The Issue
There are millions of pets in shelters and yet breeders are still breeding animals when there aren't even enough homes for the animals that are already alive and waiting for a chance at their forever homes. If breeding became a licensed and regulated activity we could cut down on the number of animals in shelters that are being euthanized every day.
By making this a regulated activity and requiring all personal pets to be spayed and neutered we could greatly reduce the number of animals that spend their short lives in a cell only to be put to sleep because no one decided to give them a chance.
This legislation could increase revenue for the Government from registration fees and fines. This would also reduce the amount of money required to run animal shelters as the pet population would decrease.
