Trafford Council want to reduce the number of children's centres in the borough to just two.  We the undersigned believe that the closure of the Altrincham Children's Centre will have a devastating and deeply felt impact on the local community.  Our local centre provides a valuable array of services and activities for local families, acting as a community hub for mums and carers to meet, socialise and gain vital referral / signposting information.  The fragmentation of these integrated services will undoubtedly result in fewer families accessing support, and increased pressure on other areas of the state e.g. the NHS, social security etc.

We call on the Council to rethink their proposals, and listen to the voices of local families.  If every child really matters - don't close our centres!
