The European Union and United States Government expressed their desire  to lift their targeted  sanctions upon the Government of Burma as the world applauded the Government for holding democratic elections. However, the Government has not amended its inhumane policy   towards ethnic minorities and continues to threaten the lives of 75,000 innocent Kachin. Malnutrition, tuberculosis, sub-human living conditions, and constant uncertainty of life and death characterize the gross conditions of the refugee camps. The United Nations and other International agencies have attempted to provide the Kachin with the necessary aid needed to survive, however the Burmese Government has denied them this right, and the plight of the innocent victims has gone unnoticed since. This petition calls for renewed and reinvigorated pressure, on the behalf of the United Nations and United States Government, directed towards the oppressive governmnet of Burma in order to provide the international community with the access needed to aleviate the suffering of the Kachin.
