The current income tax brackets, barely revised since 1977 has made middle and lower income Filipinos pay one of the highest income taxes in Asia. This is unfair and unjust.

Thus, we strongly urge you to revise these brackets and rates to account for the effect of inflation on salaries and wages and to fulfill the constitutional mandate that "[t]he rule of taxation shall be uniform and equitable. The Congress shall evolve a progressive system of taxation." (Article VI, Section 28(1))
