Palm oil production which is not sustainable is killing thousand of animals, including orangutans in incredibly inhumane ways. Australians should be able to identify foods and products containing this oil to make a choice to support this industry or not. At present, there is no law requiring palm oil to be explicitly labelled and as such we cannot choose to not consume palm oil when described often as 'vegetable oil' on the goods we purchase.
