Publish Nick Hanauer's Ted Talk

Nick Hanauer, a venture capitalist, recently gave a TED talk on income inequality, but they are refusing to publish it! Income Inequality is one of the most fundamental issues underlying the current economic crisis, and its critical that its addressed. One of the curators, Chris Anderson said it would only start "a tedious partisan rehash of all the arguments we hear every day in the mainstream media." but that's all the more reason to publish a well reasoned talk on such a critical subject. TED talks have been published on religion, climate change, sex slavery, and global poverty, all controversial issues, shouldn't income inequality be on that list too?

Chris Anderson has responded to the twitter storm. In his article, he suggests that the talk was not posted because of mediocre ratings from the audience. That would be fine, except in the email he sent out, the reason he gave was its "a tedious partisan rehash of all the arguments we hear every day in the mainstream media." So there appears to be some inconsistency here. There are some other issues as well, but you can decide for yourself, the link to his response is below:

Because censoring valid arguments is no way to spread ideas.

This is something that needs to be discussed openly by everyone otherwise you are contributing to the hardships the majority of people face on a daily basis.

"We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people. ~John F. Kennedy

TED is strong enough to stand up to criticism if it publishes this talk. I can think of other TED talks that may have "insulted" groups of people. This present decision seems inconsistent and highly suspect.

Is it not an idea worth spreading? Surely using TED as a medium to discuss a "tedious partisan rehash" will lead to more informed minds discussing the issue.
