Save Our Tree

The Issue

Swale Borough Council have decided to cut down the much loved blossom tree near the play area on Faversham Recreation ground as part of the regeneration.

This tree has been there for over a generation and has provided shade, shelter and joy to countless members of our community.

The damage to our precious environment will be devastating to the insect, bird and mammals that live there not to mention the need to preserve the mature trees that filter carbon dioxide from the air. Swale Borough Council say they will plant 60 saplings but these will not mature enough to clean the air for 20-30 years long after the climate crisis hits tipping point.
