Stop Digging Up Our Vegetable Gardens

    1. Petition by

      Jason Helvenston

      Orlando, FL

Allow sustainable vegetable, fruit, herb, and nut garden landscape varieties so that we do not receive violations or harassment. This allows the community to attractively produce much if not all of their healthy food onsite which considerably reduces their living costs while almost eliminating the carbon footprint of their food supply.

It is now legal to grow your own food anywhere in your yard within the City of Orlando. We all managed to change our little part of the world for the better. Congratulations everyone. We did it.
We'd also like to take this opportunity to inform you of an undertaking one of our partners have just started ―the Institute for Justice's Food Freedom Initiative. IJ seeks to improve state laws for food producers, consumers and entrepreneurs across the country. One of their first cases has our fellow Floridians in Miami Shores going through a similar battle for their front yard vegetable garden—they could certainly use your support!
The Patriot Garden campaign (including 6000+ petition) is still available to anyone who needs it—we’re not the only ones who have had to protect a front yard garden from the government. We hope to continue the movement. Most importantly, we will continue to help others grow their own food. Please feel free to contact us for help. Keep it up and keep signing

We were able to get hundreds of hand signatures from our neighbors during America's Day of Democracy. We shared stories directly and many are currently in violation of City Code. Many others have wanted to start a garden but did not know how so we are going to help them put in their own Patriot Garden.

Uncle Sam has always encouraged American's to grow vegetable gardens, especially in tough times. Whether Victory Gardens or Patriot Gardens, keep getting the word out. We have a very short time so keep up the pace. We are doing GREAT! Power to the People

A vegetable garden not only provides food, but it also absorbs the carbon dioxide, one of the gases that causes the greenhouse effect! Plus, it's more useful than a lawn!
