Save Moss Hall Nursery From Drastic Proposals

Save Moss Hall Nursery From Drastic Proposals
The Issue
This Ofsted Outstanding Nursery School is under threat from drastic council proposals.
Moss Hall Nursery School puts in place the essential building blocks of education in a safe, social and fantastic environment.
Barnet Council Officers plan to cut the budget in half and no longer pay for nursery teachers. With the inevitable loss of staff from these cuts, this wonderful nursery will suffer and no longer be able to provide the standard of education and support to parents and the community it now does.
Once the drastic proposals are put in place the damage will be irreversible!
What does it mean;
Loss of Head Teacher!
Loss of Deputy Head Teacher!
Loss of Nursery Teachers!
Loss of Office Staff!
Loss of Care Taker!
Loss of pre-school education!
Loss of standard of education!
Moss Hall Nursery School is asking for £60,000 out of the school funding budget, which was a 75% reduction in subsidy (Initally £220.000) but the council is refusing to recognise the nursery as a nursery school even though it has nursery teachers and is a school!
In September a proposal was submitted by the Nursery that was rejected by the Barnet Council Officers. The proposal asked for a mere £60,000 a year that would have saved jobs and allowed the nursery to still provide the standard and essential educational building blocks they currently provide, saving the council £160,000 a year and retaining this outstanding provision for 156 children in our community. Costing only £2 per child per school day/ £384.00 per child per year!
We want the Council/ Councillors and local MP's to listen to residents, the public and the nursery to prevent these drastic changes that will result in irreparable damage to a fantastic Ofsted outstanding community nursery school.
