We are opposed to the plans by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to close the Prestonpans branch in August. This will leave Prestonpans without a High Street bank and takes no account of the impact on local businesses and residents, particularly the elderly, who will be badly affected by the planned closure. We call on RBS to reconsider this decision and to consult with local stakeholders to explore ways to keep this vital local branch open.
