Oppose the new contract for Stamford Public Schools Superintendent

The Issue

“LUCERO CONTRACT EXTENSION DENIED JUNE 30TH 2022. BOE CITES LACK OF TEACHER CONFIDENCE”

The headline above was just one year ago and nothing has changed for the better.

Calling all tax payers and parents with children in Stamford Public Schools (SPS). It’s time for change in leadership for the Stamford Public School system. Because of poor leadership and a lack of transparency, the current Superintendent has been an integral part of a decline in education for over a decade. Please sign this petition and tell the Stamford Board of Education (BOE) to vote “NO” on a new contract for the Superintendent. The vote for a new contract is back on the agenda. It will be discussed in an executive session through April and May and must be voted on by June 30th 2023. Because of a common lack of transparency the vote could happen in May. The existing contract is through 2024 and the new contract would extend this education decline through 2025. Have your voices heard. Let’s not reward failure with a new contract to continue this decline in our children’s education. It’s is long over due for new leadership for SPS with a fresh outlook and ideas with solutions for all students.
