Resign from the Post of Prime Minister of Pakistan until at least an independent election audit takes place
Resign from the Post of Prime Minister of Pakistan until at least an independent election audit takes place
The Issue
Pakistan’s General Elections of May 2013 have been recognized as one of the most rigged elections by the media, opposition and even government parties. The government formed as a result of such elections is therefore unconstitutional and does not have any legal or moral basis to continue.
Not just that political party PML-N was allegedly involved in the rigging, they have tried their best to close all legal ways start any type of investigation in this matter, for example, through stay-orders against vote verification from Supreme Court of Pakistan which disabled Election Commission of Pakistan from verification in those constituencies. The few constituencies that did have an initial audit, have been found to have thousands of “unverifiable” votes, further decreasing the credibility of May 2013 elections.
We, the citizens of Islamic Republic of Pakistan (at home and overseas), demand that Nawaz Sharif step down immediately from the post of Prime Minister of Pakistan so that an independent investigation into this matter can take place and to pave way for free and fair elections so that Pakistan can have real democracy.
