Since the dawn of cinema, gay characters in well known media have not been widespread, if existent at all. In response to rumors spawned by comments made by Poe Dameron's actor Oscar Isaac and by positive fan response, I would like to petition Disney, Lucasfilm and director/writer Rian Johnson to write Poe Dameron as a gay character in the upcoming Star Wars Episode VIII.

This is not a request for a sweeping same-sex romance between Poe and Finn, but an acknowledgement that in a galaxy far, far away, gay characters can be found too.
