On Tuesday, February 25, 2014 Lee Hughes, Shawanna Hughes and Reginald Smith were arraigned after a monthslong investigation by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for the mutilatition of the ears and severing of puppy's leg.  Fortunately, an unidentified witness agreed to take the puppy, now named Miss Harper.  The witness took the injured puppy to a veterinarian.  The puppy had no skin covering the amputated leg.

In the case of Miss Harper, her owners are sadistic and cruel.  Apparently, they have already demonstrated they are unfit pet owners, prior to these horrendous acts. 

Please urge the courts to apply the most serious legal and monetary sanctions upon those involved in torturing this animal.  Given the children’s lack of concern, dangling the dog by its front paws to show the mutilated ears and damaged leg, for a photo, clearly their parenting skills would be questioned as well.
