“Warrior’s back - what about Bolo/Rich? #BRINGBOLOBACK”

We are elated that Bruce Lee’s Warrior has been renewed by HBOMAX. However, Bolo as portrayed by Rich Ting (https://www.instagram.com/richtingworld/?hl=en ) has been sorely missed.

Rich Ting played Bolo with an imposing aura and commanding presence. Bolo stepped up and sacrificed himself when his Tong needed him. This is the type of real Asian men that we know and respect, i.e. those who support and fight for their family and friends.  His masculinity, loyalty, and fighting spirit are vital to Asian representation. We need more strong, powerful Asian male leads on mainstream media which is cathartic to watch during these turbulent anti-Asian hate crimes.

What we Ask

We ask the Warrior producing and writing team to weave their magic and bedazzle Warrior fans to bring Bolo/Rich back.

Will it be via Bolo’s backstory? There is still so much intrigue and depth to his narrative and hardships as a laborer, a vital part of our Asian American story and experience.

Humanizing these laborers as real figures who built much of America rather than just 'replaceable' workers unworthy of being in official photos. This helps others to see and know about Asian American history. 

What was Bolo’s homeland and family like and what circumstances forced him to cross the salt? What was Bolo’s “coolie” past,  his becoming of and survival as the “Yellow Demon”? 

Will We see Bolo’s evil twin seek vengeance against Mai Ling and Long Zii and haunt Ah Sahm? 

Or can Rich be brought back as a new character for us to be wowed by his martial arts finesse and his acting skills?

From “Yellow Face” to “Yellow Demon”. Let us celebrate powerful Asian male leads and honor our pioneers and Asian American ancestors who suffered hardships so that we may have been allowed to live in America.
