Demanding Equal Rights For Our Children;

 

Transport our children in air conditioned buses when temperatures reach eighty (80) degrees Fahrenheit or greater.

 

 

When animals have more rights than people, something is seriously wrong. What we are going to do is show exact Gloucester County, Virginia Animal Control ordinance 3-18 Animals In Enclosed Vehicles, to show the hypocrisy of locally created laws that have all the appearances of government racketeering behind them and the objection is to make it so expensive or embarrassing as to stop these types of abuses from being perpetrated against the citizens of both the county and anyone who should be so unfortunate as to travel through the area with a beloved pet during hot spells of 80 degrees Fahrenheit or above.

 

First let's examine the law as it is presently on the books in Gloucester, Virginia.

 

3-18. Animals In Enclosed Vehicles

 

It shall be unlawful to leave any animal in a vehicle without the benefit of air conditioning when the outside temperature reaches eighty (80) degrees Fahrenheit or greater.

 

 

Now let's look at one of the definitions of the word leave.

 

Leave:to go out of or away from.

 

Technically speaking,leaving an animal in a vehicle is the same as transporting an animal in a vehicle. You are going away from the animals home or place of abode.

 

This is where we are demanding that Gloucester, Virginia government upgrade school buses to include air conditioning so that when parents leave their children on a bus to be transported to school, when temperatures reach eighty, (80) degrees Fahrenheit of greater, our children are not made to suffer heat stress. Why should our children be held at lower standards than animals? This would potentially reduce fighting amongst children as the environment would be more agreeable and less stressful. Why are the children made to suffer and how is this fair. We are asking for everyone's help as it is about the children and the future of us all.
