We are a group from Slovenia with an intention to end dog fighting (primarily in Slovenia but the main goal is to end it around the world). Everything started when we discovered Mrs. Vesna Trifunović and her partner Daniel Vagala. They are doing dog fights in Slovenia and are most likely connected to Serbia and other countries too. They have fighting dogs at home and they are not ashamed of what they are doing. They are publicly talking about it and bragging that they are dog fighters. Vesna is also an international judge in these horrible events and is well known in European dog fighting circles. We thought that our story will end with that but we discovered that they have many helpers in Slovenia and abroad. We sadly discovered that there is also other influential institution involved like Slovene police and other authorities that should have helped us but are literally making us difficult to do anything about it.

Through our FB page/group we are posting everything that we find and discover so people can see it for themselves and see what horrible things are happening in in the field of dog fighting that we didn’t know about. We don’t hide anything, so we are posting pictures, video, inbox messages, their posts on Fb and other social media. That’s also the reason we are lately getting a lot of threats and inappropriate messages. But we don’t want to give up.

Because we are saving all the evidence we got so they can be used against this horrible people we have a lot of them. As I said - everything from videos to conversations.  Because of our investigation we also discovered many connections between Slovenia dog fighters and dog fighters in other Europe countries (Serbia, Poland and also Holland which shows that the web of people involved in dog fights is really big). These people are not ashamed of what they do and they say that this is a game for their dogs. On the pictures they are posting it is clearly shown that dogs are full of scars and wounds that are typical wounds dogs can get in fights. We also found shocking videos that are one hour long and more! And on the video you can see that there are kids too who are watching the show. We want to end this intergenerational spreading of love for dog fights (in Slovenia case more love for money that can be used for drugs). We presume that the main actors in Slovene dog fighting are on hard drugs and are making money this way.

We also got messages that Natalia Volkner sent to a person that want to stay anonymous. Natalia is also a helper of Vesna and Daniel and we presume, after what we have read that she wants to have her dogs trained by Vesna and Daniel. And probably they already are training her dog. In Slovenia dog fights can have really high amounts of money and because this dogs are very successful in these fights these people also have enough to bribe authorities. And money is also the main reason they are doing what they are doing. Because Natalia is their friend and probably accomplice in these horrible fights she was pretending on social media to be a police officer that is investigating other pit bulls in Slovenia. We think that with these messages she wanted to get enough information to steal the dogs in the end so Daniel and Vesna could use them as bates in dog fights. Among these messages were also photos of different dogs.

We also send all our material we collected to the police, to dog shelters, to groups which are dealing with the wellbeing of animals, to the governmental institutions, to media houses, to the veterinary administration of Slovenia and more. Nobody responded, only one TV house made a brief review of what is going on and invited some of the main people who should investigate this (police, veterinary inspection, independent dog expert (who was the only one that gave criticism on the subject) and a representative of one of the animal shelters. The debate was not really constructive. They presented the problem in the TV show but in the debate everybody said that they can’t do anything and that there is not enough proves. But we have a proof that they actually admit themselves to be dogfighters as they named themselves.

So after investigating more we discovered that also police and governmental institutions are involved. We presume that Vesna (as a drug user) is giving them important information, probably about where to find drugs. And we also know that some of important individuals in Slovenia are going to these kind of games, among them also veterinarians which are taking care of dogs after the fight so they don’t have to drive them to other veterinarians who would probably suspect that they are involved in dog games.

So we don’t actually know anymore to who to turn for help. We also contacted institutions in other countries in which we discovered that dog fights exist and they responded right away, but ours are not so happy about the need of investigation. Probably they are corrupted and they get a lot of money from games to be quiet.

So we decided to turn to international groups for help because we can’t depend on our legal ways of prosecuting this people. If you can or know how to help us please do.
