Living and commuting in Werribee, VIC, I have come to experience firsthand the significant delays and safety issues caused by the congestion on Ballan Rd and Heaths Rd. Every day, like many others, my travel time is prolonged considerably, impacting not just my daily schedule but also the quality of my life. Congestion isn't just an inconvenience—it's a safety issue, both for drivers and pedestrians alike. The continuous increase in traffic with no substantial infrastructure improvements puts everyone at risk and affects our community's overall well-being.

Ballan Rd and Heaths Rd are major thoroughfares that service not only Werribee but also the growing regions of Wyndham Vale and Manor Lakes. With the expanding population, it is evident that the current single-lane roads are unable to accommodate the rapidly increasing number of vehicles. As traffic continues to swell, the situation will only deteriorate, affecting thousands more in the coming years.

We urgently need these critical roads to be duplicated to meet our current and future demands. Such improvements would not only ease congestion significantly, reduce travel times, and improve safety but also ensure a more efficient movement of goods and people throughout the region.

Furthermore, beyond duplicating these roads, there needs to be a robust, long-term plan in place to manage traffic flow and infrastructure development sustainably. Our region is growing, and we need foresight and proactive measures to ensure a smooth transition into the future. Without it, the quality of life will diminish, and our city's potential growth will be severely hindered.

I am calling on our State and  Local Government authorities to take immediate action. Please prioritise the duplication of Ballan Rd and Heaths Rd and develop a strategic plan for ongoing infrastructure improvements in Werribee and surrounding areas. Together, we can work towards a safer and more efficient road network for everyone in our community.
