Recently, a Cottesloe councilman informed a member of the public that the Cottesloe Council were planning to close North Cottesloe dog beach.  

While no changes have been recommended at this stage, changing these arrangements can be done at any time by a resolution of Council, so long as the relevant advertising is undertaken. As such, should community opinion change or enough community support is demonstrated, Council can with relative ease, make an amendment to these arrangements. 

There is no evidence that this advertising was conducted in areas frequented by dog owners, at the beach in question, or seen by anyone this decision would ultimatley affect. In fact, only 7 people responded to the proposal. From this, the committee concluded that the Northern Dog Beach should not be designated as an exercise area for dogs. 

Demonstrate your opposition to the council's plans by adding your name to this petition. It will be presented to the council by Maya Kavanagh during statement time at the council meeting 7pm Monday Oct 27. Members of the public are welcome to join if you want to come down.
