As a local group dedicated to the youth of Morpeth, we have identified an urgent need for recreational facilities for cyclists, skateboarders, skaters, and scooter riders. There are currently no dedicated spaces for these groups, leading to a lack of safe, legal practice areas. Our community is home to thousands of people of all ages and abilities who have a passion for these activities, yet no outlet to pursue them.

Studies have shown that providing youth with access to recreational facilities significantly decreases antisocial behaviour. Investing in a pump track can serve a dual purpose: it provides young individuals a positive outlet to spend their time and helps reduce such behaviours, a win-win for our community.

This is not just about cycling, skating, or scooting - this is a matter of ensuring the wellbeing of our young people and fostering community spirit. Adding an infrastructure like a pump track can also provide a local attraction, boosting the social and economic value of Morpeth.

We call upon our local council to build a pump track in Morpeth.
