Immediate areas of focus for the Contra Costa County Animal Advisory Commission would include but not be limited to the following:
Review, recommend, and implement CCASD structural changes to the following
- Mission Statement
- Public Reporting
Review, recommend, and implement CCASD program changes to increase live outcomes
- Comprehensive Adoption Programs
- Large Scale Foster Programs
- Feral Cat TNR Programs
- Public Awareness and Advocacy
Review, recommend, and implement CCASD program changes to decrease Shelter Intakes
- Decrease owner surrenders
- High-volume, Free and Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Surgeries
- Adoptions as Prevention Mechanism
Specifically we are asking the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors to convene this commission for the immediate and primary goal of increasing live outcomes for Contra Costa County shelter pets to a minimum of 90% and above in order to achieve No Kill county status and, to more fully reflect the values of Contra Costa County residents.
Respectfully,
