At the same time, hunters from Taiji hunt dolphins. A small number are captured for sale to  aquariums, and the rest slaughtered for sale as food.  There are many alternative food sources.

The Japanese Government has ignored the protests of the rest of the World and is currently fighting the Australian Government in the International Courts. Boycotting the Olympic Games will represent a huge national embarrassment and provides a strong incentive to end these vile practices.
