Tougher sentencing for paedophiles in the Isle of Man

Tougher sentencing for paedophiles in the Isle of Man
The Issue
In the Isle of Man Examiner dated 25th August, 2015, there was an article regarding the sentencing of a paedophile. He was sentenced to five years and five months for his crimes against children, spanning over 20 years.
I strongly feel that legislators need to review the powers given to courts in such cases. It is almost weekly that we are reading of cases of child abuse or child pornograpgy on the Island. Such cases are often treated with a leniency I cannot understand.
The Island has recently instilled a zero tolerance towards drugs. My question to you is, why can't we display zero tolerance towards paedophiles? Paedophiles destroy lives and families. They cause mental, social and emotional trauma to their victims that continues through life. They take away something priceless, something that can never be replaced, a child's innocence. Surely that is reason enough for those in power to see that the sentences given at present do not fit the crime.
"For evil to prevail it takes good people to do nothing". I would therefore ask that the good people who have the power to do something don't sit back and do nothing. Please support this request for review of current legislation.
