Dear You Tube,
As an American offspring of Christian grandparents, and Muslim parents, I am devastatingly appalled by the video Innocence of Muslims. This video has incited violence across the globe, and is currently serving as a tool for the Clash of Christian and Muslim civilizations. As Americans we are not cowed down by the threat of violence from extremists groups, and we all appreciate the opportunities afforded to us from living in an open society.
My late grandmother was a devout Christian whom I attended church with on numerous occasions, and under her tutelage learned many guiding principles of life. My late father was also a devout Muslim who mentored me in every step of my life to avoid the mistakes he made, and to carry out some of his unfulfilled dreams.
Coming from a Christian-Islamic background I would be insane if I wanted harm to touch my grandmother, or father, as a result of someone being disrespectful to their faiths.
In honor of my late grandmother and father, as well as the strong faiths that they represented, please remove the insensitive and disrespectful video from You Tube. Let us work towards establishing a world of peace, tolerance, and mutual understanding.
