In the fall of 2008, Sheila Baird, head of the FDIC, put a program online for mortgage loan modification. It laid out what banks and borrowers needed to do to modify mortgages. I have followed every step and it is now June of 2009 and I still have not achieved a modification. They try to make you feel as if you are some sort of "Bad" person for letting this happen to you. Well, I never defaulted on any debt. My credit score was in the middle 700's spring 2008. Then my clients quit paying. A magazine I worked for folded. My 3 months security money evaporated.

I do not know anyone, who even knows anyone, who has achieved a modification. I pressed my senators and banks to find out how many had actually been completed. The answer is no one knows. The banks are not required to report this information. I think it is a scam. As long as we are only individuals we have little or no power to even get a truthful answer, let alone real action to save our homes and our communities.

We need the FDIC modification plan to be implimented and now.
