The proposal ("“Reforming the law of taxi and private hire services”") being considered by the Law Commission is for wedding cars & funeral cars to be controlled in the same way as private hire vehicles, including Local Authority licencing, CRB checks and generally a much higher standard of compliance, which will force a lot of older cars out of service, and lead to significantly increased costs for those that remain...
