On September 30th 2009 the legislation that funds our Highway Programs expired. That legislation has since been extended until the end of the year funding programs at a limited levels and cutting programs for planning of future projects and improvements.

            This impedes the ability of State and Local Governments to adequately plan highway and infrastructure projects. These projects improve the safety of our roads and create jobs that offer a living wage.

             With the record levels of unemployment and the rapidly deterioration condition of our roads and bridges, many of which need major repair or replacement, we can not wait any longer for a new bill to be passed. Everyday we do puts us all at risk and prevents hard working Americans from returning to work.

             Tell your Elected Officials that you want a new bill now and that it is wrong for them to put your safety at risk.
