The Issue
Mr. Vice President, the petition below is a result of a spontaneous reaction by me when I found out this morning that the immigration blog I participate in is loosing it’s respected moderator, an immigration lawyer from Philadelphia. I write in a very loose style to say the least, and what started out as an in-house effort to nominate one of my fellow bloggers as his replacement, morphed into something else again. If this ever sees the light of day and gets as far as you, we’ll assume your researchers will have filled you in on crazy me and this great blog “change.org.” Thanks. Anticipating lots of trouble for your administration in the months ahead regarding immigration reform, looking to help anyway I can.)

one of our own- ana lisa. Our current referee- I've just found out- is moving on and we have the perfect replacement on the immigration blog; waiting in the wings, and you never know unless you ask. Are you up for it Ana? You've been magnificent the last few weeks holding the discussions together in Dave Benions absence (and witty too). What about it change.org? Ask her. (And if this petition makes its way to any legislative bodies? I invite you to listen in as well, because I've just added these last two sentences; knowing what I added further down this petition- applies to you, you and YOU!)
In the meantime maybe I can make the rounds on her behalf in the other discussions (assuming I can stay off you tube for 5 minutes; music and movies are going to have to take a backseat to immigration reform for a few days.)
All kidding aside, if you've been contacted by me, from this point forward, I ask you to check us out on the immigration side, go to the last few stories, and definitely check out Ana Lisa’s comments. I'm confident, that Dave Benion would be delighted if Ana- who I know he's fond of- served as his follow up. As for me, I don't give up easily- and this petition is great practice for another one I've already thought about posting. No Ana, not a petition to boycott Mexico and dream we might force reforms- just a simple petition, signed by hundreds, requesting that the Mexican government do the right thing. Expedite my friend Beto's paperwork so that he may travel shortly to that farm outside Tornoto, Canada, where he's had a job waiting for him since last May. This past May was when both of us had one week, courtesy of the Canadian Customs Agency, to look around, before he had to "whisk" himself back to Mexico. I know you well- you bureaucrats (down there)- telling my friend to come back and see you in 6 months (not taking any information from him in the meantime)….. and it’s not adequate!!!!!! (last June at an office Cuernivaca.) Any one with half a brain can anticipate the problems come this November.
Whoa, look at this? With a little tweaking this petition could be a two for one. In the meantime back to the issue at hand, how about it Ana? And www.change.org assuming you haven't thought of Ana- yourselves- or have somebody already in mind.....
Sincerely,
Gary Stein (a minor distraction in this years governor’s race in New Jersey. steinforgovernor.com)
