We Stand With Hayward Workers!

We Stand With Hayward Workers!
The Issue
We are a coalition of Hayward workers, community and business leaders who are fed up with the hypocrisy of the Hayward City Council.
We are calling on politicians to stop the cuts that hurt our economic recovery and to address inequality towards their own employees, who have lost up to 25% of their incomes since cuts began in 2010.
Hayward workers were already coping with the down economy before the City took an additional 5-10% cut through unilateral imposition — bypassing the negotiations process and taking an additional $400-$800 a month from the lowest-paid workers.
Our message remains clear: Hayward management must lift imposition, begin wage restoration for these workers and return to the bargaining table to negotiate a fair agreement!
Attacks on public services and the workers who provide them hurt the local businesses and organizations that these working families support. Since these cuts were implemented, the local economy has lost $13.9 milliion that could have helped to sustain and improve businesses downtown.
It's time to help the local economy by reinvesting in the workers who provide vital services to the community.
We are fighting for a fair economy for all!
