We only have until 11:59 p.m. TODAY to urge Rep. Donovan, the Speaker of the CT House, to call S.B. 153, "Safe Harbor for Sexually Exploited Children," for a full vote.

What Can You Do this Week to Help this Bill Become a Law?

ACTION STEPS:

1. Sign the petition and urge Speaker Donovan to call for and vote in favor of S.B. 153.

2.  Call Speaker Donovan.  If his office receives at least 30 phone calls, this will prove the remarkable support for S.B. 153 and help persuade him to call the  bill for a vote on this very busy day. Call script below.

“Hi, my name is [   ], and I am a Ct constituent.  I am calling to urge Representative Donovan to support “Safe Harbor for Exploited Children.”  S.B. 153 passed unanimously in the Senate and now waits to be called for a House vote.  This bipartisan legislation is very important as it protects children exploited through prostitution from being prosecuted for their abuse.  It also strengthens the penalties for those who promote the commercial sexual exploitation of our children.  These children are manipulated and groomed by adults who wish to exploit their vulnerabilities.  This happens in our state and the victims deserve complete protection under the law.  Will the Speaker of the House please support this important legislation by calling it for a full vote?”
