This is important because Washington State is one of only six states that does not have a plan for their citizens with Alzheimer's. Yet, 150,000 Washingtonians have been diagnosed with the disease. Many more have the disease and have not yet been diagnosed. Alzheimer's is the 3rd leading cause of death in Washington State, and we have the 4th highest Alzheimer's death rate in America. Our aging population stands at 12% today, but it's expected to grow to 20% by 2030, and we are not prepared!
