Name the 200 block of West 113th St., Manhattan after Harry Houdini.

The Issue

Harry Houdini is undoubtedly one of America's and the world's most legendary magicians and entertainers. Born Erik Weisz in Hungary, he moved to New York City in 1878. In 1904 he bought a townhouse at 278 W. 113th Street in Harlem, where he lived with his family. The house has received landmark status, and in honor of Houdini's contributions to the neighborhood, city and the world, we request that the Community Board rename the block where his former home sits, "Harry Houdini Way".
