HB 1747 will essentially roll out a welcome mat for horse slaughter operations to set up shop in Missouri. The bill has passed the House of Representatives, and must be stopped now.

Americans do not eat horse meat—this bill benefits only the interests of slaughter plant operators and foreign specialty food markets. Furthermore, horse slaughter plants are not clean/green enterprises, and have proven economically draining and environmentally damaging in other states. We should not bring this economic and environmental burden to Missouri.
